Each simulator is designed for a 10–15 minute burst of curiosity. Here is how to get the most from it.

A 10-minute recipe

Predict (1 min). Read the “What if…?” question aloud and ask the child to guess.
Play (5 min). Change one control at a time. Ask “what changed?” before reading the explanation panel.
Check (2 min). Answer the three challenge questions together.
Talk (2 min). Use the discussion prompts at the bottom of the page to connect the idea to real life.

Using it in class

Project a simulator and let students vote on what to change next.
Pair students on one device: one drives the controls, the other explains the result.
Pick a learning path as a week-long mini unit: Space Explorer, Young Scientist, Math Lab, Climate Detective, Future Tech, Physics Playground, Chemistry Lab, Inside the Body, Geometry Studio, Number Sense, Planet in Motion, Think Like a Computer.
Class pages (Class 5, Class 8…) list only age-appropriate simulators.

Installing and working offline

GoKurious is a Progressive Web App. On Android (Chrome) tap Install app when it appears, or use the browser menu → Install app. On iPhone/iPad open the site in Safari, tap Share → Add to Home Screen. Every simulator page you open is then stored on the device and works without internet. Open the pages you need once while connected (for example, in the staff room) and they will be ready in a classroom without Wi-Fi.

Progress and favourites

Free preview: anyone can play the first three simulators without signing in. After that, a Google sign-in keeps the rest unlocked and saves progress across devices.

Signing in: simulators need a Google sign-in (a child’s school or Family Link account, or a parent’s). It is a one-tap Google button; no password is typed into GoKurious. Sign in once while online; after that the app and visited simulators work offline too.

Children can tap ♥ to save favourites and “Mark completed” after finishing. Answering all three challenge questions correctly also marks a simulator complete. This is stored only on the device (localStorage); nothing is sent to us, and there are no accounts. Use the Privacy page to clear the data.

Accessibility

All controls are native sliders, buttons and switches, so they work with a keyboard (Tab, arrow keys) and screen readers. Animations respect the device’s “reduce motion” setting. If something is hard to use, please tell us.
